- About me:
I can do a lot of things but I believe songwriting (especially comic/parody songwriting) to be by far my greatest strength. I know a lot about (or can quickly learn about) various academic subjects, especially at the introductory level, which is why I am currently working as a liberal arts tutor at the city University of New York. Unfortunate economic circumstances have reduced my official workweek to 10 hours, so I have plenty of time to tutor through myJambi. I enjoy playing basketball and poker when I can, which is very rare for the latter, and I can make beginners better at both. Lately I've spent much of my time playing with Facebook applications but I would much rather spend that time helping people through myJambi and making the money I need to pay the rent by myself.

Intro
I'm the only person of myJambi offering this exact service right now because not many people bother to write song parodies and many fewer people can do it well on other people's terms.
-
Approach
I brainstorm and then I write. I don't really understand how the brainstorming works except that I think of songs that might fit with the concept or concepts that might fit with a song until I find a good match, but the important thing is that this method does work for me. As for the writing, I make sure that I know how the song I'm using sounds and keep a window with the lyrics open in my browser. I always try to keep the rhyme scheme and line length the same as the original and very rarely fail to do so. I'll also play off of the original song and make my words rhyme with corresponding words of the popular song whenever it doesn't hurt the parody overall through grammatical problems or going off topic. When I'm done and I'm writing for someone else, I will send it to the buyer and make any changes that I am asked to make.
